Did You Know TopCoat® F11® Can Be Used on Matte Paint?

Matte paint finishes are very unique, and they look their best when they are clean. However, keeping a matte paint finish clean can be a challenging situation, mainly because most waxes and sealants cannot be used on matte paint because they will alter the finish and potentially make the matte paint shiny. Furthermore, most waxes and sealers on the market are primarily designed to be used on glossy paint finishes that enhance the glossiness of such a finish. If they are ever used on a matte paint finish, you will have a disaster and will usually be required to repaint your vehicle.

You can safely use TopCoat® F11® or TopCoat® F11PRO on Matte Paint!

Fortunately, TopCoat® F11® can be used on matte paint finishes without issue. In fact, TopCoat® F11® and TopCoat® F11PRO® are specially formulated to be used on multiple paint finish types, including matte paint, without the risk of altering the surface or making it glossy!

Many car manufacturers will have you sign a document agreeing to never wax your matte-painted vehicle because they know by using most wax or sealant products, you will ultimately damage the finish, and they don’t want to be liable for such. What they don’t tell you is that there are specialized products that can be used for sealing and ultimately protecting your matte paint from the elements creating a hydrophobic layer to resist water, dirt, grime, road debris, and other unsightly elements.

TopCoat® F11® and TopCoat® F11PRO® are one of the first and only products on the market that you can safely use on matte paint finishes as a sealer. Because TopCoat® F11® and TopCoat® F11PRO® are water-based formulas that have no solvents, abrasives, or VOCs (volatile organic compounds) and uses many advanced technologies to protect painted surfaces, you don’t have to worry about it being applied to the textured finish on your matte paint. Moreover, the added benefits of applying TopCoat® F11® or TopCoat® F11PRO® to glossy-painted surfaces are the same as when applied to matte painted surfaces. You still get the groundbreaking benefits and technologies of MycroGlide Technology, Micro-Healing technology, Self-Leveling technology, the ability to last several months or 12+ months using TopCoat® F11PRO® and being extremely hydrophobic.

Doesn’t Matte Paint Have a Clearcoat that you can Wax or apply Sealant?

The properties of matte paint finishes are completely different than those found on glossy-painted vehicles. While matte paint still uses a clearcoat finish, the clearcoat is susceptible to being altered by most wax and sealants, which commonly provide gloss and can essentially “buff” a matte-painted surface to a glossy appearance. Using those products will ultimately damage your matte paint, and you will be out of thousands of dollars to repaint your vehicle, which doesn’t include the extra money spent to match all the matte-painted panels, which is very difficult to do. You may end up repainting your entire vehicle if you ever use normal wax or sealants on matte paint. You will only want to use products that are designed for matte paint or TopCoat® F11®, which is completely safe and often recommended for use on matte paint surfaces of all types.

Lastly, TopCoat® F11® and TopCoat® F11PRO® can be used on other matte surfaces, including matte plastics and matte vinyl. Almost like matte paint, matte vinyl may be susceptible to being damaged by inferior waxes or sealants that are designed to be used on glossy surfaces. TopCoat® F11® and TopCoat® F11PRO® are safe for use on matte surfaces such as matte vinyl.
