TopCoat Products FAQs

TOPCOAT® F11®

F11® replaces anything you would need to maintain your vehicle, motorcycle, boat, ect. By providing a flexible feature that won't crack, peel, flake, turn yellow or cause dry patches like ceramics tend to do! F11® provides a resilient shine, great protection, & easy maintenance for years to come!

If the surface is LIGHTLY oxidized, TopCoat F11 will fill in, bond and stop the oxidizing! If you have medium to heavy oxidation, you must buff and or wet sand your paint to get the desired surface characteristics you want as F11 will not correct this. However, apply the F11 after the surface preparation to maintain that polished surface moving forward. TopCoat F11 is awesome but it is not a miracle product, it will not repair damage. It prevents it to begin with!

One coat of F11® lasts 3-6 months on average. The longevity of the coating depends on how much abuse it takes from physical wear from car washes, hand washes, harsh chemicals, detergents, abusive weather or environmental conditions etc. We recommend reapplying at least every 3 months. The more layers you do apply, the better the results will be and the longer it will last!

F11® can be used on all painted surfaces whether denim, matte, satin, flat, or gloss such as clear coated paint systems, water based or solvent based. If attempting to use F11® of lacquer or enamel paint (old original paint on cars from 60's and down) always test on the side quarter panel in an inconspicuous spot first to ensure F11® does not affect the paint in a negative way. Enamels are single stage paints and are hard to work with sealers and sealants. Materials F11® can coat, enhance and protect: All plastic and vinyl such as body moldings, window tint, vinyl graphics on RVs, plastic or acrylic windshields on boats and planes, including eisenglass (clear plastic used on boat canopies, jeeps, tonneau covers, etc.). Any metals such as steel, stainless steel, polished aluminum, chrome, and all britework regardless of industry, stainless steel appliances, grills, elevator doors, and more. Rubber, rubber gaskets, door seals, boat bumpers and moldings, engine pieces, etc. All wood surfaces, including teak on boats, outdoor furniture, garage doors, interior wood picture frames, furniture and more. All polished stone such as tile, granite, marble, quartz, corian, ceramic tile found in kitchens and baths. All glass, mirrors, polyurethane, lexan, plexiglass, acrylic, uses: shower doors, windows, glass tables, glass cooktops as long as there is no food prep directly on the coating. Leather from shoes, coats and jackets, car interiors, saddlebags on bikes, dashboards, door panels, bags and more. All rims and tires, engines (F11® is safe with no heat issues and is non-flammable), exhaust pipes on bikes, and more. Incredible on carbon fiber and other materials. F11® can be used on vinyl and cloth convertible tops. Cars, trucks, motorcycles, RVs, boats, airplanes, home, restaurants, bathrooms, and janitorial use too!

TopCoat® F11® works great on boats! We have a lot of marine customers who love it. It lasts about 3 months in a marine environment depending on how much abuse it takes. Remove any oxidation by buffing with a rubbing compound prior to applying F11®. Have you seen the "how it works" video at the bottom of our homepage? :)

You can typically cover a 40 ft. RV with 8oz of F11®. Use half trigger pulls as you apply, less is more with F11® so a little goes a long way. One half trigger pull spray will cover a large area, there's no need to spray every square inch. Your application towel will become wet with the product and turn into a wet wipe where you don't have to spray as much going forward. Most of our RV or boat owners however, purchase the gallon size so they can do multiple coats. See all of our products at https://topcoatproducts.com/.

One 16oz bottle gives you several applications! The average car only takes 1-2oz per application, trucks and SUVs take 2-4oz per application, and it lasts 3-6 months on average!

F11® is a professional sealer formulated to enhance, protect, & maintain any material or surface. It’s easy one-step hand application saves time, polishing your vehicle in less than half the time it takes to wax. Coated surfaces are easier to maintain, and they remain cleaner longer. It saves time & money, one bottle of F11® does it all! Multi-surface application eliminates the need for other costly products. F11®’s clear formula means no unsightly white wax residue is left behind. It maximizes depth of color & shine with minimal effort, and covers up light surface abrasions such as spider-web scratches/swirls. It’s the ultimate wax replacement sealer for your auto, bike, RV, plane, and more!

Before F11® is applied, make sure your bike, vehicle, or surface is cleaned first. You can use any products to wash but preferably use products without wax in it, or any synthetic “coating” for “protection” as the F11® won’t bond properly on the first application. However, each application of F11® will push out any other coatings that were there and F11® will eventually bond 100% to the substrate. If you want to add several coats of F11® to your surfaces, wait at least 24-48 hours between coats to ensure effective performance. Multiple, consecutive coats can be applied, but you will not achieve the benefits as you would by allowing one application to “set up” or “cure” first within the stated time frame. Clay Bar: If you have any contaminants in the paint, overspray, or hardened fallout where you need or want to Clay your paint, you can clay the surfaces and use F11® as the lubricant, thus claying and applying a layer of F11® in the same step. F11® works amazing with clay bars.

F11® is awesome on windows! Clean the glass with rubbing alcohol first, dry, then apply F11®. Make sure to buff off the excess product with a clean, dry microfiber towel for a streak free shine.

F11® works best on a wax free surface. If you have any wax, detail spray, or coating recently applied on the surface, we recommend removing the coating before applying TopCoat® F11®. If you’re not sure how to remove the coating, you can call one of our application experts for advice. If removing the recently applied coating isn’t an option for whatever reason, then you can either wait a week or two to allow the elements to naturally break down the current wax or coating (as most coatings don’t last more than a few weeks) or you can apply TopCoat® F11® directly over the current coating without removing it and still gain many of F11®’s benefits. However, if you coat over an existing coating with F11®, understand that F11®’s performance and longevity become hindered until it can work its way through that existing coating and bond with the original substrate. One way to help F11® work its way through the existing coating is by applying a second coat a few days, or a week later, allowing F11® to penetrate directly to the substrate and bond effectively at that point.

TOPCOAT® HPS™

HPS is the original coating that startered TopCoat. HPS is more formulated for in home use.

Yes! HPS is safe to use on all these surfaces.

Yes, HPS can be applied on top of F11. All of our products are formulated to work together, so there are no issues using one on top of the other.

HPS will not remove oxidation.

HPS will not remove water spots.

HPS can fill in light scratches, but will not completely remove scratches.

One application of HPS lasts about 3+ months.

Before applying HPS™ for the first time, wash any grease or grime off the surface with dawn soap, dry, then follow the directions for application. Once you have a coat of HPS™ you can use it to clean and touch up the surface moving forward!

TOPCOAT® SPRITZ™

Spritz®is for the person who doesn't have the time but wants the shine! It is a quick way to maintain and enhance any surface.

Absolutely! All of our products are made to bond and work together. Spritz™ is a great way to touch up your car after it has been treated with F11®.

Once the surface has been treated with one of our coatings, such as F11® or HPS™, you can use Spritz™ to wash the car!

Spritz™ can be used as both a quick detailer and a dry wash. We recommend coating the surface with F11® or HPS™ before using Spritz™ in this way.

Spritz™ lasts 1 month on average and it is the easiest of all of our products to apply!

Spritz™ can be used on all painted surfaces whether denim, matte, satin, flat, or gloss such as clear coated paint systems, water based or solvent based. All plastic and vinyl such as body moldings, window tint, vinyl graphics on RVs, plastic or acrylic windshields on boats and planes, including eisenglass (clear plastic used on boat canopies, jeeps, tonneau covers, etc.). All glass, mirrors, polyurethane, lexon, plexiglass, acrylic, uses: shower doors, windows, glass tables, glass cooktops as long as there is no food prep directly on the coating. Leather from shoes, coats and jackets, car interiors, saddlebags on bikes, dashboards, door panels, bags and more. All rims and tires. Incredible on carbon fiber and other materials.

For best results apply to a clean cool surface. Mist product directly onto ANY surface intended for a quick detail gloss and spread using a clean Microfiber cloth. Buff excess product using a clean microfiber, turning to a dry part of the cloth for the final buff. Do one area at a time, move to the next and repeat the process. Note: Especially on glass, chrome, and other high gloss surfaces, rebuff using another clean, dry microfiber to ensure a streak-free shine.

TOPCOAT® POLYWASH™

1oz of PolyWash™ should cover approximately 440sqft of surface area. That means that a bottle will cover 7040sqft. To make this a little more practical, we recommend using 1oz in a gallon of water for a regular washing of your car, or 2oz in a gallon if it is particularly dirty.

PolyWash™ will not remove wax, and because it helps prep the surface to bond with our other products, it is the perfect product to use before applying a coat of F11®.

PolyWash™ will not remove water spots, but due to the nature of the coating it applies, it will significantly reduce the amount of new water spots that are able to form on the surface.

TOPCOAT® CRYSTALEEN®

Multiple layers will protect against rock chips, CRYSTALEEN® is incredibly hard! It will mitigate the rock chips, but won't give you 100% protection until you get several coats.

No, CRYSTALEEN® is not a slick sealant. It is not designed to be slick. CRYSTALEEN® is a permanent glass sealant. CRYSTALEEN® will have the same feeling as dragging your hand or fingers down a clean glass window. There will be noticeable drag and no slick feel. That is a good thing! No slickness does not mean CRYSTALEEN® is not permanently bonded to the surface. You will see the sealant in action when you drive through the rain, you will see its super-hydrophobic properties in action. Remember it is a permanent sealant, not a sealer! Continue to use F11® in conjunction with CRYSTALEEN® for that slick feel and even more superior production to your vehicle.

It lasts forever! It's an aerospace coating, the backbone of our technology was used on the space shuttle! It will not wear off because it is bonded on a molecular level. Nothing will remove it.

Absolutely! Anyone can apply CRYSTALEEN® that can follow directions. Make sure you have cleaned and prepped the surface before applying. You want a raw surface, without any waxes or sealers, so it can chemically bond with the substrate. Start with Stage 1 which is a sealant, aka the glassifier. You'll start on a clean, prepped surface. Use caution not to get the product in your eyes, and make sure you're in a well ventilated area. Apply it out of the sun in ambient temperature for best results. Shake up the Stage 1 bottle so everything mixes together fully. Start by spraying it evenly across a 2 foot by 2 foot section at a time. Before buffing, immediately move to Stage 2, the curing solution. This is what causes the sealant to bond to the surface on a molecular level. Evenly spray Stage 2 over the same section and let it sit 5-10 seconds, then buff if in with a microfiber towel. Go over it again with a second, dry microfiber towel. Make sure to continue shaking stage 1 before applying each time. You don't want the product to dry before you buff it off. We recommend you do two coats out of the gate for maximum results, and there is no waiting period between coats!

You will want to prepare the surface by removing water spots, scratches, and oxidation or other imperfections before applying CRYSTALEEN®.
