The Essential Step for Glass-Smooth Paint
A traditional wash only removes loose surface dirt. To remove the microscopic, bonded contaminants that make your paint feel rough and interfere with the performance of your protection products, you need to mechanically decontaminate the surface. The EzClay® Bar Kit safely removes these contaminants, creating the ideal foundation for a smooth finish and long-lasting protection.
Choose the EzClay® Kit When:
- Your Paint Feels Rough: You've just washed and dried your vehicle, but the surface still feels gritty, snaggy, or textured like fine sandpaper.
- Prepping for TopCoat® Protection: You want to ensure your paint is clean and smooth before applying F11®, F11PRO®, F11PRO+®, or Crystaleen® for maximum performance.
- You Want Maximum Efficiency: You want the simplicity of a single, professional-grade clay bar that replaces fine, medium, and coarse clay bars, paired with EzGlyde® to provide the lubrication needed for a smooth, controlled claying experience.
Skip the EzClay® Kit When:
- Your Paint Already Feels Smooth: If the surface feels smooth after washing and drying, bonded contamination is likely minimal and claying isn't necessary.
- You Only Need to Strip Wax or Sealant: If your paint is already smooth but you simply want to remove old wax or sealant, use UnCoat®.
- Removing Heavy Sap or Tar: If you're dealing with thick tree sap or fresh road tar, remove it first with SapErase® before claying to help keep your clay bar clean and effective.
What EzClay® Won't Do
EzClay® removes bonded surface contaminants, not paint defects. It will not remove hard water etching, stains caused by bird droppings, bug splatter, or tree sap, nor will it remove scratches or swirl marks. These types of damage require paint correction, such as polishing, compounding, or wet sanding, depending on their severity.
Quick Tip
Not sure if your vehicle needs to be clayed? Try the Baggie Test. After washing and drying your vehicle, place your hand inside a thin plastic sandwich bag and lightly glide your fingers over the paint. If the surface feels rough or gritty through the plastic, it's time to use EzClay®.
